Aliso Viejo is one of the many master-planned communities within the San Joaquin Hills of Orange County, bordered by Laguna Beach, Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel and Laguna Woods. Its rich history dates all the way back to the 1890’s when the Moulton family took ownership of the land from the Mexican government that was originally granted to Juan Avila in 1942. Later bought by the Mission Viejo Company in 1976, the vision for Aliso Viejo was to feature neighborhoods that mixed homes, workplaces, stores and services. Construction began in 1982 and by 1995 the Self-Governance Subcommittee of Governmental Affairs was the first community-wide property owner’s association of its kind in the state, which pushed Aliso Viejo into cityhood in 2001. The community vote to make Aliso Viejo a city is a prime example of the city moral. Aliso Viejo is the only Orange County city to be incorporated since 2000.
Here you will find the perfect balance between residential neighborhoods, community parks, facilities and school, with a dash of business, office and retail. There is even a place for the nature-lover with the Orange Country trail system in Wood Canyon Wilderness Park. This affluent city is the prime location for your next home destination.
Aliso Viejo houses many great restaurants and shops that are calling your name. It is a great community to raise your family. With the lush greenery, great parks and trails and a location not too far from the beach, you couldn't ask for more.
